Commanders visit with Florida Governor

Left to right:  Past National Commander – Earl Kennedy, Governor Scott,  Current National Commander – Bill Cross, and Jack Wagner

On 6 March a delegation of Lee County Combat Infantrymen from the local Combat Infantrymen’s Association were invited to visit Governor Scott. They presented the Governor with a very nice plaque in honor of all Florida Veterans. The Lee County Infantrymen were well received by the Governor and he readily showed them his Father’s WWII History and earned medals. The Governor’s Father was a Combat Infantryman and Paratrooper who had earned numerous medals and the elite Combat Infantry Badge. Governor Scott was invited to our annual Pride and Patriotism event and was enthusiastic to learn of this annual event. The Lee County delegation was then given a guided tour and briefing of our State Veteran’s Offices and activities.
